The Los Angeles Oktoberfest Brings a Little Bit of Munich to Los Angeles

(Los Angeles, CA…July 13, 2010)  Los Angeles Oktoberfest, presented by Farmer John, invites you for a fun-filled day of German food, beer and live entertainment, Saturday, October 9 and Sunday October 10.  This event will be held at the Lot .  Plenty of parking is available.

Los Angeles Oktoberfest will offer a 25 member Bavarian band playing live music, lively sing-alongs of old time drinking songs, a Polka band with Bavarian dancers, a special aerial show with showgirls costumed in dirndl dresses and a fine assortment of German food and ice-cold beer.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 2 PM with city officials welcoming everyone with the traditional Tapping of the Keg.  This Bavarian custom will officially tap the first keg of German beer by hammering a wooden mallet with a bronze spout into the keg -- then the fun begins.

Get your team ready for the LA Oktoberfest Beer Pong Tournament.  A Silent Auction will feature some of the sought after items including such as dinners with celebrities to Dodgers and Lakers tickets.

The event is partnered with the German Consulate General Los Angeles, German American Business Association, Los Angeles Berlin Sister Cities and sponsored by Widmer Brothers, ABM Cosmetic & Laser Services, Firemans Brew.  Proceeds from the event will go to the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
