JOHN PAUL PET AND THE LOS ANGELES ANIMAL ALLIANCE ANNOUNCE

THE FIRST SUPER SENIOR MAY EVENT

Super Senior May: Never Too Old to Play May 1-31st

Los Angeles (May 1 – 31. 2012) John Paul Pet announces it has joined forces with the Los Angeles Animal Alliance, Barcelona Enterprises and dozens of Southern California agencies that are committed to animal welfare for the first ever Super Senior May event to be held throughout the month. In this unprecedented event, local animal welfare organizations will target the adoption of mature pets by our community's senior population. Super Senior May was specifically designed to coincide with ‘Older Americans Month: Never Too Old to Play’ May 2012.

John Paul Pet has championed animal rights and is dedicated to helping pets of all ages find loving forever homes. Senior pets are great companions for the elderly due to their maturity and the ease with which they can be handled. The pairing of these two wonderful segments of the population is ideal as they provide health benefits to each other in numerous ways. Nothing reduces stress or promotes activity like the unconditional love of your furry friend.

Event Specials include: adoption discounts, contests and giveaways. Specials and promotions will vary from shelter to shelter, so please check with each shelter for specifics about this exciting event.   download PDF information sheet  for Super Senior May

Super Senior May is organized by a collaborative committee of Southland humane leadership from agencies including Irvine Animal Care Center, Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, the Los Angeles Animal Alliance, Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control, Orange County Animal Care, Riverside County Department of Animal Services, and the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Animal Care and Control.

Psychological studies have found that pet owners report to be as emotionally close to their furry counterparts as they are to their closest family members. What better way to spend your golden years than sharing your love with a senior pet in need of companionship? By visiting your local shelter during the month of May, you may find more than just an animal companion. You may find the love of your life!

Participating shelters* include:
